Individual Therapy for Adults

I work with adults who are ready to make meaningful changes in their lives. My style is direct, research-based, and focused on practical strategies that lead to real results. Therapy isn’t about endless venting—it’s about identifying patterns, challenging unhelpful beliefs, and building new behaviors that align with your values. Together, we’ll focus on clarity, accountability, and growth so you can move forward with confidence.

I reserve a small number of sliding scale and pro bono spots to increase access to care. These are limited and based on availability, but I’m always open to discussing options if cost is a barrier.

Anxiety & Stress

Anxiety and stress are common, but they don’t have to control your life. Persistent worry, restlessness, or difficulty managing stressors can take a toll on your mental and physical health. In therapy, we identify the underlying triggers of your anxiety and stress, while also equipping you with proven techniques to calm your mind and body. Using evidence-based approaches, I help you reduce anxious thoughts, increase emotional regulation, and regain a sense of control so you can face life with more confidence and peace of mind.

Depression & Low Motivation

Depression often brings feelings of sadness, hopelessness, or a loss of motivation that makes even simple daily tasks feel difficult. Therapy provides a supportive environment to process these feelings and begin the path to healing. Together, we explore the negative thought patterns and life experiences that may be contributing to your depression, while focusing on strategies that promote self-compassion, resilience, and renewed purpose. My approach combines evidence-based techniques with compassionate care to help you rediscover joy, motivation, and a stronger sense of self.

Work Stress & Burnout

The demands of modern work can leave many people feeling exhausted, disconnected, or burned out. Over time, unmanaged stress can affect not only your career but also your personal life and overall health. In therapy, we address the sources of your stress and work on practical strategies to restore balance. Whether you’re dealing with overwhelming workloads, workplace conflict, or lack of motivation, I help you set healthy boundaries, rediscover your strengths, and create a sustainable path forward where work and well-being can coexist.

Life Transitions

Major life changes—such as moving to a new city, starting or ending a relationship, career shifts, or adjusting to parenthood—can be both exciting and overwhelming. These transitions often bring uncertainty, grief, or stress as you adjust to new realities. Therapy provides a supportive space to navigate these shifts, process your emotions, and strengthen your coping skills. Together, we work to find meaning and clarity in the midst of change, helping you move forward with confidence and resilience as you step into new phases of life.

Trauma & EMDR

Traumatic experiences can leave deep emotional wounds that continue to affect your daily life long after the events have passed. Symptoms such as flashbacks, anxiety, or avoidance can feel overwhelming and isolating. In therapy, we work gently and at your pace to address these experiences in a safe and supportive environment. I offer trauma-informed care, including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a proven approach to help the brain reprocess painful memories and reduce their emotional impact. Together, we aim to move you from survival toward healing and renewed strength.

LGBTQIA+ Support

Everyone deserves a safe and affirming space where their identity is respected and celebrated. LGBTQIA+ individuals often face unique challenges, including identity exploration, family or social rejection, and discrimination. Therapy provides a supportive environment where you can openly discuss your experiences, build resilience, and navigate life’s challenges with confidence. My approach is affirming, compassionate, and tailored to your unique journey. Whether you’re seeking support for mental health concerns or simply a place to be fully yourself, you will find understanding and acceptance here.

I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, trauma, burnout, and life transitions. I also provide affirming therapy for the LGBTQIA+ community.

At this time, I primarily work with adults (18+).

I’m a direct therapist. I’m not a blank slate and I’m not just here to nod along while you talk. My role is to help you see what’s getting in the way, challenge you when needed, and give you research-based tools to make lasting changes. Clients who work best with me want honest feedback, humor, and practical strategies they can actually use.

Yes. I offer telehealth sessions for clients anywhere in California, as well as in-person sessions at my San Francisco office.

It depends on your goals. Therapy is client-directed. Some people come to me for focused, short-term work—like learning tools for anxiety or managing stress. Others view therapy as a long-term investment in their growth and want ongoing support. We’ll talk about your goals in our consultation and decide together what makes sense for you.

No—and that’s okay. Therapy isn’t a one-size-fits-all process, and my approach may not be the right fit for everyone. If you’re looking for a purely non-directive space to vent without feedback, my style may feel too challenging. But if you’re ready to be both supported and pushed toward change, we may be a strong match.

Often, yes. Because my approach is behavioral and evidence-based, I’ll suggest strategies or exercises to try between sessions. These aren’t “assignments” in the traditional sense—they’re opportunities to practice skills and notice changes in your real life.

Finding the right therapist is important. If we’re not the right fit, I’ll do my best to provide referrals to other trusted clinicians. My goal is for you to get the support you need, whether that’s with me or elsewhere.

Yes. I currently accept Lyra Benefits and Aetna Insurance. If you have another provider, I can give you a superbill to submit for out-of-network reimbursement if your plan offers those benefits.
